Prototype 2 bit

This does a good job of making the rather by-the-numbers narrative not seem so dreary. Just like the first game, the story is told through 'consuming' other people to gain their memories.

It's a horrific set-up, and one that is clearly intended to help you justify the slaughter. Heller travels back to New York and finds the city in the grip of Blackwatch, a shadowy, private military corporation, which has masterminded a viral outbreak to test biological weapons on citizens. The story revolves around a new character, Sergeant James Heller, a decorated US army soldier who becomes obsessed with James Mercer, the lead character from the first game, after his family is killed by the so-called 'Mercer Virus'. Whilst it offers few new ideas, even on its predecessor, Prototype 2 is a game you play with a big smile on your face. The game essentially offers a consequence-free world in which players of pretty much any skill level can in no time at all be tearing soldiers, helicopters and tanks apart in a symphony of gory violence. Prototype 2 is a bit like a summer blockbuster: not very challenging, but a guilty pleasure.
